LABoral will celebrate Museum Day this Friday 18th May with uninterrupted opening hours from 10 am to 2 in the early morning
Workshops, guided visits and DIY Videoclip Night are some of the activities organised for this Open Doors Day, which will continue on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th

In celebration of International Museum Day 2012, whose theme is: “Museums in a Changing World. New Challenges, New Inspirations”, LABoral has organised a wide-ranging programme of activities throughout Friday 18th, Saturday 19th, and Sunday 20th May.
The public will be able to access the Centro de Arte free of charge during the whole weekend and take part in the guided visits to the exhibitions and other areas not normally visited by the public, and also in video game and music sessions. On Friday 18th May all of the exhibition rooms at LABoral will be open to the public without interruption from 10 in the morning until 2 in the early morning. From 7 pm onwards Hip Hop Culture Night will take place.

Visit-workshops
Visualizar el sonido [Visualising Sound]
An activity adapted to different educational levels and conceived as an exercise in listening, identifying and interconnecting sounds with images from the works on display at the exhibition.
Time: 10 am – 12 noon.
Place: Chill-out
Pupils aged 4 years-old from the Colegio Loyola de Oviedo will visit LABoral to participate in the visit-workshop at Visualizar el sonido.
Guided visits to the exhibitions and behind-the-scenes tours
LABoral’s mediation team helps visitors contextualise the works being shown in the different exhibition rooms. The tours have been extended to those places at the Centro de Arte which are not normally visited, including the warehouses and spaces dedicated to production.

A historical tour: the old vocational training workshops
The Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial occupies part of the old professional training workshops of the former Universidad Laboral [Laboral University]. This visit proposes an approach to the Centre from a historical and architectural perspective. The participants will take a guided tour and watch a video with testimonies by former students, teachers and workshop instructors who, at the time, either studied in the workshops or gave professional training to thousands of young people.

Videoclip DIY night
LABoral invites amateurs, professionals and all those interested to come along with their material and record a videoclip which will be broadcast live.
