Agreement between LABoral and the Centro Municipal de Empresas de Gijón
Both institutions will collaborate with companies that are closely linked to the world of culture and art and the Centre of Art and Industrial Creation

LABoral has signed an agreement with the Centro Municipal de Empresas de Gijón [Municipal Centre for Companies in Gijón] with the objective of collaborating in scientific and technological fields of common interest. This accord, signed by the Councillor for Economic Development and Employment of Gijón City Council and the President of the Municipal Centre for Companies, Fernando Couto, and by the General Manager of LABoral, Lucía García, is aimed at fostering relationships between companies located in any of the business premises of the Municipal Centre for Companies in Gijón that are closely linked to the world of culture and art and the Centre of Art and Industrial Creation.
The Municipal Centre for Companies in Gijón is a municipally-owned public limited company, set up in 1992, which is aimed at facilitating the creation of all kinds of businesses and supporting the development and consolidation of those already existing within the municipal district of Gijón. Its further goal is to generate research, development and innovation activities, as well as to promote technology transfer in order to contribute towards improving competitiveness.
As the main body responsible for the promotion, management and development of the Parque Científico Tecnológico de Gijón [Gijón’s Science and Technology Park], the main focus of its work lies in the creation and setting up of firms and institutions founded on science and technology, acting as the driving force for synergies between research centres, universities and advanced services companies with the goal of making its area of action into an outright centre of excellence.
Within this framework, the Centre of Art and Industrial Creation will also act as a resource centre seeking to promote the creative process, establishing synergies with industry and the private sector while strengthening its ties with the Asturian artistic community. Based on the agreement, those companies located in any of the premises of the Municipal Centre for Companies in Gijón will be able to put forward proposals for cooperation provided that its activity is related to the world of art and intellectual creativity.
