The participants will build robots and will learn basic programming concepts. LABoral will host this Easter a new edition of their children robotics camps, aimed at children from 9 to 14 years old. The participants will build robots and will learn basic programming concepts during the three days in which the intensive sessions last, they will take place the 30, 31 of March and 1 of April, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

As part of its educational programme, the Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial in collaboration with Robotix Educación has designed a comprehensive programme for the school year 2014-2015 which is intended to enable the participants in the different activities to learn the basic concepts of robotics and programming while, at the same time, developing creativity and critical thinking. To do this, the LEGO WeDo construction set and Lego Mindstorm NXT platform are used to build robots.

The goal is learning basic concepts of robotics and programming, while at the same time, developing creativity and critical thinking. To do this, the LEGO WeDo construction set and Lego Mindstorm NXT platform are used to build robots. This camps are an excellent way for transmit the passion for science, technology, engineering, mathematics and many other matters related transversely. Until a few years ago robotics was a field reserved to technicians and engineers in the industry field. Now, children can also dive into this world through the use of teaching materials and simple vocabulary.

Educational robotics is a tool which allows children from a young age to build their own learning, leading them towards scientific knowledge. It facilitates their learning in a practical, simple and stimulating way, turning them into creators and researchers and not solely consumers of knowledge. The logic of computer programming and debugging allows children to develop intellectual resources that will prove very useful in the future.

Taught by Educated, these camps are aimed both for boys and girls that have not participated in any previous workshop and those who wanted to continue researching the possibilities of robots.

Dates: 30, 31 of March and 1 of April 2015
