Zaunka

Zaunka is Daniel Castillo and Quique Corrales. Artistic reflections ought to serve as an excuse to put forward new ways of addressing reality. At a time of aesthetic saturation there is an inevitable displacement towards documentary realism and it is against this backdrop where we can find Zaunka’s main concerns. Zaunka’s work has been recognised with many prizes such as the Premio de Creación Artística de la Comunidad de Madrid in, Montehermoso Creación 06, Premio Especial Festival de Cine Iberoamericano de Huelva 2005, or second prize at “Libros de Autor” Fotoencuentros 06, among others. Zaunka has been selected for several international video creation events like Les Reencontres internacionales Paris/Berlin/Madrid 08, and film and documentary festivals like Documenta Madrid 08, Docusur (Tenerife), Portobello Film Festival (London), Festival de cine Pobre de Gibara (Cuba) and the Digital Barcelona Film Festival in 2006.
