Wilson Díaz

Pitalito, Colombia, 1963

He is a founding member of Helena Producciones, with whom he organises the Cali Performance Festival and the Escuela Móvil de Saberes project. Noteworthy among his solo exhibitions are Movement of the Liberation of the Coca Plant, Beulah Gallery, Point Reyes, United States (2009); Cuarentena, La Vitrina, Lugar a dudas, Cali (2008); Acotación, Casa Republicana, Bogota (2006); and Comic, James Colman Gallery, London (2004). Has taken part in many group exhibitions: 10th Havana Biennial, Havana (2009); Visionarios, Audiovisual en Latinoamerica, Instituto Itaú Cultural, Sao Paulo, touring Biblioteca Luis Angel Arango, Bogotá, Museo de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid, Museo de Arte Moderno y Centro de la Imagen, Mexico City (2007-2009); Displaced Contemporary Art From Colombia, Glynn Vivian Gallery, Swansea, UK (2007); and Cali en el espejo, Or Gallery, Vancouver (2007). He has completed residencies including: The Gatherers: Greening Our Urban Spheres, Yerba Buena Center for The Arts, San Francisco (2009); The Intricate Journey, part of the projects programme of the NGBK artists association, Berlin (2007); and Gasworks International Residency Programme, London (2004).
