Sven Påhlsson

Born in Sweden in 1965. Lives and works in Oslo. Recent exhibitions include: Museet for Samtidskunst, Oslo; Nerman Museum of Art, Overland Park; Galería dels Àngels, Barcelona; Spencer Brownstone Gallery, New York.

Sven Pählsson is acknowledged as one of the most important creators in electronic art today. He uses infographic procedures in his works to analyse contemporary western society through its customs, lifestyles and leisure culture. With computer animation employed as a tool in his latest works, Påhlsson produces a personal view on how various human habits become reduced to banality. Crash Course, Sprawville and Consuming Pleasures form a trilogy in which he analyses the myths and miseries of American society. He is backed in all of these by Erik Wøllo, who composes the music.
