Sonia Puente Landázuri

Urban architect with more than 20 years of professional experience in architecture, urban planning and land use planning, developing the different phases involved in the construction of our landscape: planning, management and construction.

She is currently Director General of Territorial and Urban Planning of the Principality of Asturias. From this new responsibility, she is working on the drafting of a new Law of Integral Territorial Planning for Asturias, LOITA, with the aim of establishing a new framework for the territorial and urban development of Asturias for the coming decades.

She has been Dean of the Official Association of Architects of Asturias (2016 and 2019) and Member of the Association of Urban Planning and Environment of the same institution (2010 and 2015) and of the Union of Groups of Urban Planning Architects UAAU, actively participating in the drafting of the document: In view of the exhaution of a model. Towards a responsible urbanism. Document for the renewal/regeneration of urban planning in Spain (2014).

Member, among other organisations, of the City 3R Observatory, the International Council on Monuments and Sites, ICOMOS, the Association for Sustainability in Architecture, ASA, and Architecture Without Borders, ASFE. Regular lecturer, writer of scientific articles, as well as participant in different media: press, radio and television. Member of different juries in architecture and urban planning competitions, national and international.
