Roman Signer

Born in Appenzell, Switzerland, 1938. Lives and works in St. Gallen.

Roman Signer studied sculpture and fine art at the Schule für Gestaltung Zürich and the Academy of Fine Arts Warsaw. Between his exhibitions (i.a.): Kunstmuseum St. Gallen, St. Gallen (2014), Swiss Institute Contemporary Art New York, New York (2013), Shanghai Biennial, Shanghai (2012), Kunsthaus Zurich, Zurich (2012), Sala de Arte Público Siqueiro, Mexico City (2011), National Gallery of Art, Warszawa  (2010), Hayward Gallery, London (2010), Palais de Tokyo, Paris 2010, 2008, 2006, Biennale die Venezia, Venice (1999, 1976) Documenta VIII, Kassel (1987). His work is present, among others, by the following institutions: Museum Of Old And New Art (MONA), Tasmania; Musée National d’Art Moderne, Paris; FNAC, Paris-La Défense; FRAC Ile-de-France, Paris; Museum für Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt/Main; Kunstmuseum St.Gallen, St. Gallen; Kunsthaus Zug, Zug; Kunsthaus Zürich, Zurich; MOCA Grand Avenue, Los Angeles.
