Noé Baranda

Noé Baranda Ferrero (Gijon, 1978) is a photographer in transit, travelling through ominous places.

Since graduating in Art Photography from the School of Arts and Crafts in Oviedo in 2001, he has worked both in art photography and advertising. His work is grounded in experimentation, play and simulacrum, using photography as a vehicle to explore his own perception of reality.

Awards and distinctions include the Principality of Asturias Visual Arts Award (2010-2006); ArtNalón Photography and 6th International Industrial Heritage Photography Prize (2009); Sala Borrón Young Visual Artists Award (2007); Production Grant at the 3rd Comarca de la Sidra Emerging Art Award (2006); 6th Astragal Award (2005); and the AlNorte Exhibition Projects for New Artists Grant (2004). Shortlisted for the 42nd Luarca National Art Competition (2011) and the 10th University of Murcia Visual Arts Photography Award (2010).
