Miguel Palma

Born in Portugal in 1964. Lives and works in Lisbon. Recent exhibitions include: Bloomberg Space, London; Museo do Neorrealismo, Lisbon; Culturgest, Lisbon; Círculo de Bellas Artes, Madrid.

Miguel Palma focuses his attention primarily on a number of types and categories of artefacts, devices or equipment that are part of modern society’s day-to-day relationship with technology. A complex relationship expressed in the close bond between mechanics and man, a connection cutting across the organic, the material, the psychological, the emotional or the purely practical. With this background, it is a logical outcome that automobiles have become a recurrent element in his practice.
