lives and works in Mexico City and London. Her solo exhibitions include MALI-Museo de Arte, Lima (2011); Museo el Eco, Mexico City (2009); MIT List Visual Art Center, Cambridge (2009); Miami Art Museum (2008); MUCA, Mexico City (2006); and Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (2004). Her work has been presented in a number of group exhibitions at Utah Museum, Salt Lake City (2011); MUSAC, León (2010); Stedelijk Museum Schiedam, Schiedam (2009); Museum of Fine Arts Houston (2007); inSITE San Diego/Tijuana (2005); Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid (2005) and Museo Tamayo de Arte Contemporáneo, Mexico City (2004). Smith is currently representing Mexico at the 54th Venice Biennale. Publications of her work include: Parres, A&R Press/Turner (2008) and Spiral Cities and Other Vicarious Pleasures (2006).
