Mariana Heredia
(Gijón, 1988) Lives and works in Gijón and Kassel
She is graduated at the Kunsthochschule Kassel (Germany) and the Universidad de Salamanca, since 2014 she is a member of the group of artists O. Stark.
Her work observes rituals or customs that structure the pass of time, the projections and dialogues established among the past, present and future or the constants and repetitions that articulate it. Heredia tends to use photography and video, means that by their own nature alter the temporal speech, operating on our experience and perception of time, space and therefore taking part in the construction of memory.
The performative acts that she sometimes performs allow her to realize further experimental works, where the process plays a key role. A kind of first refusal, toward and away phenomena, objects and experiences enrolled in a temporary lapse and concrete imagery.
