Margot Lovejoy
Born in Canada, 1930. Lives in USA
Margot Lovejoy is a multidisciplinary artist and Professor Emerita, State University of New York at Purchase. She is author of Digital Currents: Art in the Electronic Age (Routledge, 2004). Amongst other honours, she is recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship; an Arts International Grant in India; several NYSCA grants; NYFA's Gregory Millard Fellowship, the 2007 CAA Award for Distinguished Teaching of Art. Her project TURNS (www.myturningpoint.com) was featured in the 2002 Whitney Biennial and is part of the Rhizome database. An installation aspect of the TURNS project was included in the Institute for Contemporary Art, inaugural, Taiwan (2001) and featured in major exhibitions in Germany (ZKM), Spain (MediaLab Prado) and at the Queens Museum in New York City. Her website www.confess-it.com has an installation aspect exhibited at the Neuberger Museum (2009). She has created many artists’ books such as Labyrinth and The Book of Plagues and has been a speaker at conferences on art and technology internationally.
