He lives and works in Berlin. His recent solo exhibitions include VideoRhizome, Kunsthalle Wien, Vienna (2010); Infinitesimal, carlier | gebauer, Berlin (2010); PhotoEspaña, Madrid (2008); Museu de Arte da Pampulha, Belo Horizonte (2007); Galeria Luisa Strina, Sao Paulo (2007); and Temporada de Projetos 2005/2006 Paço das Artes, Paço das Artes, Sao Paulo (2005). His work has been seen in countless group exhibitions and biennials, including: 16th Sydney Biennale (2008); 9th Lyon Biennial (2007), and 27th Sao Paulo Biennial (2006). His works have been on display at the Singapore Art Museum (2009); Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid (2008); ZKM Museum of Contemporary Art, Karlsruhe (2008); and Museu de Arte Moderna, Sao Paulo (2007). Marcellvs L. won the Ars Viva 07/08 Award and First Prize at the 51st Oberhausen International Short Film Festival, 2005.
