Langlands + Bell

Ben Langlands and Nikki Bell began collaborating while students of Fine Arts in London. Their artistic practice ranges through sculpture, fi lm, digital media and architecture to focus on our relationship with the built environment, and the systems of mass-communications and exchange used to negotiate a fast-changing technological world. They have exhibited widely internationally including Tate Britain, Tate Modern, London; Serpentine Gallery, London; Whitechapel Art Gallery, London; IMMA Dublin; Kunsthalle Bielefeld; MoMA, New York; The Central House of the Artist, Moscow; CCA Kitakyushu and TN Probe; Venice Biennale; Seoul Biennial.
In 2002 Langlands + Bell were commissioned by the Imperial War Museum London to research the Aftermath of September 11 and the War in Afghanistan.In 2004 they won the BAFTA Award for Interactive Arts Installation for The House of Osama bin Laden. In the same year they were nominated for the Turner Prize.
