Kokoscha

Kokoshca came into being in 2007 as a duo. The boredom of life in Pamplona and Iñaki’s and Amaia’s need to make music, brought them together to play and write songs in which Amaia’s sweet voice is mixed with distorted guitars and Iñaki’s darker voice.

Their first concert was in a tiny bar. Afterwards they kept writing songs and were offered more concerts. For their live performances they needed an extra member and decided to look for a drummer. That’s when Javi joined and their first gig as a trio was in Madrid. Here they were spotted and instantly picked up by the record label Birra y Perdiz. In the basement where they rehearse, they recorded and self-produced their first CD, Únete a Kokoshca (Byp, 2008), a compilation of all the band’s early songs.

They worked on their second CD in 2009, consolidating the band as a trio in which all three members compose, sing, and are essential elements. La fuerza (ByP) was released in February 2010.

They released Gernika (Kafe Arrastoak) in 2011, a live acoustic set recorded in the city of the same name and they plan to release a single —a 7” vinyl EP— with Elefant Records in September 2011.
