Gil Morán
Morán was born in León in 1959. Lives and works in Muros del Nalón
Antonio Gil Moran was born in León in 1959 while living in Asturias since his childhood. Self-taught but with a first stage fed from the German Expressionism and Spanish material informalism. He is disclosed in art biennials, especially due to proximity to La Carbonera having had a studio in La Felguera. Currently has his studio in Muros del Nalón, Asturias.
He has made eleven solo exhibitions being the latest in the Gemma Llamazares Gallery in Gijon in 2012 and 2009, Galería Vértice of Oviedo in 2007, Galeria Fruela of Madrid in 2005, Galería Espacio Líquido in Gijón in 2004, Colegio de España in Paris in 2003.
Since 1990 has being participating in more than sixty exhibitions groups throughout Spain: Madrid, Cáceres, Barcelona, Albacete, Vigo, Ciudad Real, Leon, Santander, Lisbon, Marbella, Zamora, Barcelona, Oviedo, Gijón, Avilés, Salamanca, Granada...
Over the years he has participated in various galleries in Asturias and Leon, in the Ferias de Arte Contemporáneo in Lisbon, Santander, Salamanca, Marbella and Oviedo... Bienal de pintura de Zamora, Certamen Pintura Valdepeñas, etc.
A dozen awards augment the curriculum in National Competitions highlighting the BMW Painting Award in its sixteenth edition 2001 and Medalla de Honor in the fifteenth edition of 2000 or the acquisition of works in the s VI edición del Premio de Pintura de la Junta General del Principado de Asturias 2006 and 1st Prize at the XI Bienal de Pintura Villa Noreña, 2012 in Asturias.
