UrbanLabs is driven from Citilab-Cornellà, a social and digital innovation centre exploring and diffusing the digital impact in creative thinking, design and innovation that arose from digital culture. Citilab is a cross between a training centre, a research centre and an incubator of business and social initiatives. The core idea of the centre is that digital technologies, and more specifically the Internet, are an innovation medium completely centred and based on the community. This initiative can be traced back to 1997 and it subsequently opened its physical headquarters in 2007. Since then Citilab has been driving its activity as a citizen-based digital innovation centre for the diffusion and promotion of the knowledge society. Its basic working methods are the thinking of design, and creation focused on the user.
