Bárbara Fluxá

(Madrid, 1974)

A graduate in Fine Arts from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and the London Institute of Art. Her PhD thesis examines the interconnection between art , archaeology and landscape.

She obtained a mobility scholarship from the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a creaion scholarship from Intermediae-Matadero Madrid; as well as grants from the Academia de España in Rome and Casa de Velázquez in Madrid. Fluxá won the Creation Award of Madrid, second prize at the Competition of Young Artists of Madrid and was shortlisted for Descubrimientos PhotoEspaña and El Cultural Photography Award.

Her solo exhibitions include Matadero-Madrid; Centro de Arte Joven Madrid; 29 Enchufes, Madrid; Artificial, Espaciof; Df.

Her works have been seen in group shows held in Museo Esteban Vicente, Segovia; MACRO and Sala 1, Rome; Instituto Cervantes, Paris; Centro Cultural de España, Lima; Círculo de Bellas Artes, Madrid; Unicaja Andalucía; Generaciones Caja Madrid; Glass Gallery UCD, Dublin; Liquidación Total, Madrid.
