Emanuel Andel & Christian Gützer

In 2005 Andel organised Equaleyes, a series of events to encourage VJ culture in the Museumsquartier (MQ) in Vienna.

From 2005-06 he studied on the MA in interaction design course at Ravensbourne College of Communication, London. In 2006 he was a founding member of the group tagr.tv.

At 16 Christian Gützer trained as a toolmaker and started to work in the metal industry. He later decided to take A-levels and began to spend his spare time on digital artwork. He undertook further studies at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and focused on visual media design under the supervision of Peter Weibel and Tom Fürstner. During his studies he focused on projects dealing with autopoietic and self referential systems.

In 2003 Emanuel Andel and Christian Gützer founded the art group 5voltcore to create works that deal with the behaviour of closed and formal systems and their manipulation. They have participated in various festivals from Madrid to Tokyo, and won the Transmediale Award in 2005.
