In contrast with Fat Car, a symbol of our weaknesses, another of the models Erwin Wurm has developed is also on show: UFO, a prototype for a car defined by its futuristic air. Its lines and polished surfaces, its lightness suggesting the idea that it levitates over the ground, turn the UFO into a symbol of the technological, of design, a materialisation of the dreams presiding over the vision of future and progress. An allusion in a sense that is contradictory but complementary with the previous one, to a certain type of ideals, clichés or values currently determining the style and form of future consumer goods.
