Fabien Verschaere transforms gallery spaces into fantastical worlds that exist somewhere between dreams, fairytales and nightmares. Verschaere presents an original vocabulary of compulsive wall paintings, watercolours, drawings, video animations and sounds that invades each and every space. His theatre of characters can be humorous, menacing and sometimes disturbing. There is always a deep fascination with the relationship between reality and fantasy. Verschaere transforms the familiar setting of everyday life and changes the context through its presence in the gallery. For LABoral, he has created a complete room installation including wall paintings, music and various sculptural elements that form an over-powering environment for us to see his world through his eyes.
