Los que atraviesan el tiempo

Installation. Steel, cement, wood, printed material, audio and speakers

Los que atraviesan el tiempo [What crosses time] is an installation exploring our ability to imagine the future based on elements present in our everyday lives.
The installation recreates the everyday hybrid existence of the architecture on view in the Cuencas of Asturias. The artefacts generated by Meana are the end result of the recombination of objectual, constructive and grammatical materials and of the translation of the concept of hybrid architecture, the core focus of this project, to an alternative present where natural, rural, industrial and urban landscapes are entwined. Some objects speak to traditional forms and uses while others engage with obsolete industrial elements. Together they build a reality replete with juxtapositions and temporal crossovers.
