Danger and darkness, exertion and sweat, mud and water, dust and hard work, and miners … Homes de carbón deals with all this.
The documentary follows the working day of a group of miners, from when they collect their lamps until they shower before going home. Filmed between 2006 and 2008 in the Figaredo, Santiago (Aller) and Nicolasa (Ablaña) coalmines and in the Jovesa coalmine, at the Río Negro Valley, before the shut down.
