thatgamecompany believes the emotional palette used in videogames is too narrow. Gamers will appreciate diversity and want experiences that strike the full range of emotional chords, just like anybody else who enjoys a good story well told. Flower exploits the tension between urban bustle and natural serenity. Players accumulate fl ower petals as the onscreen world swings between the pastoral and the chaotic. Like in the real world, everything you pick up causes the environment to change. And hopefully by the end of the journey, you change a little as well. Flower is thatgamecompany’s videogame version of a poem: an experience that could be interpreted by each player differently, depending on how they approach it.
