Residency: Avatar - LABoral

Avatar Centre, located in Québec

LABoral has signed a collaboration agreement with Avatar, a centre specialized in audio and electronic art from Québec (Canada) for developing an artist exchange programme for Spanish and Canadian artists.

In a first step, Avatar has launched an open call for Canadian artists working with art and new technologies (More information).
Among the proposals submitted before April 15, Avatar will submitt a short-list of the Canadian projects to LABoral for its assessment, and finally, LABoral, will host the Canadian artist awarded with the residency grant.

The residency of the selected artist in LABoral will take place from September 30 to October 13. The work produced during this period will be displayed on show at the Centro de Arte y Creación industrial.

Likewise, LABoral shall launch an open call for Spanish artists who want to complete a residency at the Canadian production centre. The Spanish projects short-listed by LABoral will be submitted to Avatar for its assessment, and finally, AVATAR, as the venue that will host the Spanish artist, will award the residency grant. The residency of the Spanish artist will take place on February 2016.
