The open dissemination of the knowledge and processes that characterise the activity of fab labs gives meaning, to a considerable extent, to the mission of these labs.
Aim
LABoral intends, with this programme, to stablish the bases for the professionalisation and training support of creators, artists, designers, cultural producers and professionals of any discipline interested in this field.
The participants of the courses and workshops of FabLAB Asturias are active agents in a training method that implies a critical and cross-sectional analysis of the processes of artistic creation and production.
Thematic lines
Digital manufacturing: Fab labs are defined by their approach to the use of digital manufacturing machines, seeking for new ways of production, new manufacturing techniques and new uses of technology parallel to traditional indutrial production.
Experimental electronics: Development of electronic prototypes and embedded software, aimed at promoting the re-appropriation of electronic tools for artistic production and fostering research, thus supporting interdisciplinary creative development.
Creative programming: The development of electronics and digital technologies has generated new languages and tools for artistic creation. Being acquainted with programming and its methodologies is essential in order to be able to understand these new creative fields.
