Ryoichi Kurokawa

Ryoichi Kurokawa creates video and sound work presented as installations and screenings in various art, music and film festivals. He also performs live with his audiovisual cross-media concerts and has released CDs and DVDs. He has performed for musicians such as Human Audio Sponge (ex.YMO: Sketch Show + Ryuichi Sakamoto). His work has been featured in international festivals and museums across Europe, the United States and Asia, including Tate Modern, Ars Electronica Linz, Mutek and MACBA-Museu d’Art Contemporani de Catalunya. In 2010, with his installation rheo: 5 horizons, Kurokawa won the prestigious Golden Nica award at Ars Electronica Linz, in the category of Digital Music and Sound Art. Kurokawa recently participated in the 2011 Venice Biennale, with his newly commissioned work Octfalls.
