XXYY: 20 años de Euroyeyé
Exhibition commemorating the twentieth anniversary of the festival in Gijón
XX años de EuroYeyé is a review of the two decades of the oldest underground festival in Asturias, an annual event of the mod culture and the style of the 1960s in Spain.
The show includes a selection of the works that have been exhibited in previous editions: It includes different artistic practices, from painting to photography and collage that represent different visions of this movement born in London in the late 1950s that reached its utmost splendour in the 1960s and then experienced successive revivals in the 1980s and 1990s.
In addition, there will be a collection of written and audiovisual documentation summarising the impact of the festival in the national and regional mass media. It includes a playlist with songs by the bands that have taken part in the festival, pictures of the public, the concerts and the parties, as well as posters, flyers and memorabilia to complete this review of the festival.
XX años de EuroYeyé shows viewers the impact of mod culture in the aesthetics and the ways of life, and how it has changed society over the last 20 years.
