Marta Medina. Mov. Ámate Ur.0x
A project developed by the artist Marta Medina during his residence in LABoral, under RASPA
This installation is the end result of a residency and a previously staged presentation exploring Marta Medina’s interest in the idea of excess (drives, absences, catharses, over-the-top behaviour). Prior works like Días de vino y rosas, El traje nuevo del emperador, Que se mueran los feos, El cluedo, The piano has been drinking not me...had already paved the way for the creation of this project which makes use of several different languages including dance, audiovisuals, light ambiences, and sound atmospheres created by the musician NON-ERGO.
Mov.ÁmateUr.0x, is presented to the public as an interactive installation, turning the spectator into a real-time component within the projection. The interaction triggers ongoing changes in the original audiovisual by superimposing the material coming from the public’s spontaneous actions. The lo-res technically distorted images prefigure a non-personal revealed reality of the being in which we are immersed.
As a result of Marta Medina’s residency at LABoral, the piece Mov.Ámate Ur.0xis part of RASPA, the Asturian Network of Performance and Action, which fostered the interactive and technological quality of the piece, allowing it to transcend its staged presentation.
