A project by Mario M. Martínez
The full integration of technology in our daily life is a fact but, Are we really aware of how this impacts our emotions?
Ctrl.+Alt.+Del. [fuerade] analyses how the stimuli coming from the digital world alter our biometric parameters in the real world: The notification light of our cell phone modifies our pulse, a certain sound makes us hold our breath or a subtle vibration can trigger a panic attack. Ridiculously small amounts of energy become more powerful than an electric shock and should deserve a hazard sign.
The overexposure to communication interfaces multiplies the stimuli received and places us in a permanent state of alert. Likewise, in these installations all elements affect each other and react to each other, mimicking the response triggered by all these signs on people.
Without notice, at any moment and anywhere, recognizable icons and sounds are filtered altering our environment and the way we experience it. Mario M. Martínez translates the lines and textures of drawing to the digital language, generating moods that overlap with the immediate reality.
Ctrl.+Alt.+Del. [fuerade] is an exercise to reaffirm the importance of these devices as mediators of our human relationships.
Ctrl.+Alt.+Del. [fuerade] is the winning project of the 9th production grant LABjoven_Los Bragales, called jointly by LABoral and Colección Los Bragales, owned by the Cantabrian entrepreneur Jaime Sordo.
