Marta Peirano is a journalist and writer specializing in technology and power. She investigates the use of contemporary infrastructures, languages, protocols and artifacts for the control and surveillance of people on a centralized and planetary scale. She also imagines ways to use these same structures to manage and mitigate the climate crisis.
She currently collaborates with El País, La Sexta and Muy Interesante, and maintains a weekly section on technopolitics in 'Las mañanas de RNE'. She has been assistant to the editor at elDiario.es, head of Culture at ADN and member of the Advisory Board of the Biennial of Thought of Barcelona and of the working group for cyberdefense of the Center for National Defense Studies (CESEDEN). She conducts the festival (re)programming - Strategies for Self-Renewal at Aksioma, the Institute of Contemporary Art in Ljubljana. In 2015 she published 'The Little Red Book of the Network Activist, a cryptography essay-manual for journalists prefaced by Edward Snowden. In 2019 she published 'The Enemy Knows the System', a bestseller about platform capitalism where she connects our addiction to mobile phones with the data mining industry and its role as a tool for mass control and manipulation. She lives between Madrid and Berlin.
David Cabo is the co-founder and co-director of Fundación Ciudadana Civio, an independent, non-profit organization that monitors public authorities and fights for real accountability of institutions. Civio's projects include Dónde van mis impuestos, for the visualization of the budgets of public administrations; El Indultómetro, an analysis of all pardons granted in Spain since 1996; as well as data journalism research on public procurement, access to health or lobbying, among other topics.
He holds a degree in Computer Engineering and a degree in Psychology. Before focusing on transparency and data journalism, he worked as a consultant and developer for twelve years in projects for British Telecom, HM Revenues & Customs, Accenture, Ericsson or BBVA Global Markets.
Pablo DeSoto is an academic and multidisciplinary artist with an iconoclastic experience across geographical and disciplinary boundaries. He holds a Master in Architecture from the Royal Institute of Architecture in Stockholm and a PhD in Communication and Culture from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He co-founded hackitectura, a collective of architects, programmers and activists responsible for pioneering projects of public space intervention with critical technologies, whose works have been exhibited at ZKM Center for Art and Media, LABoral or at the Bienal de Arte de Sevilla YOUniverse. He is the editor of the books Fadaiat: Freedom of movement, freedom of knowledge, Situation Room: designing a citizen situation room prototype and After.Video: Assemblages. Artist-in-residence fellowships at Tokyo Wonder Site and Townhouse Gallery Cairo. He has won numerous awards, including LAB_Cyberspaces, LAB_JovenExperimenta, DKV and NTNU ARTEC. He is currently a visiting professor at the Graduate Program in Architecture at the Federal University of Paraíba in Brazil.
Pinar Yoldas is an architect, artist and interdisciplinary researcher. Her work focuses mainly on biological sciences and digital technologies through installations, videos, sculptures and drawings, making reference to the anthropocene, poshumanism and econihilism.
