2nd Session - LABsocial_Club
LABsocial_Club is an audiovisual map of Gijón as seen through the sensations, feelings and opinions of old people.
The name is based on the famous documentary Buena Vista Social Club, by the German film director Wim Wenders, who in 1998 went to Cuba ito give testimony of the latest recordings and concerts by some of the most famous musicians of the XX century.
In our case the music will be recorded by Juanjo Palacios, artist and musician, who will be with us during a series of walks through different areas in Asturias. We will go in the company of old people, who will teach us how to look, listen and understand their surroundings. We will also ask them about their memories, regrets and hopes, drawing, with the information gathered, a map of the most long-lived people, which for us means as much as the words History and Knowledge.
