Residency: Roc Jiménez
Roc Jiménez de Cisneros will create a musical piece in installation format for the LABoral sound lab and will work on the visual components used for their forthcoming publications as EVOL
Roc Jiménez de Cisneros (Barcelona, 1975), founder of the computer music group EVOL, through which he has articulated much of his artistic production to date, will develop an artistic residency at LABoral sound lab.
As one of the leading exponents of the unconventional sonic exploration, the artist will work on the creation of Algo Fluorescente, a sound piece that initially, will be shown in installation format at the Centro de Arte and subsequently, published in both physical and digital format
Algo Fluorescente starts out by ideas related to vagueness, transient states of matter and strain, all concepts that have previously appeared in both recorded solo pieces, as well as with Stephen Sharp as EVOL.
Roc Jiménez de Cisneros will also work in the creation of a wooden sort kit, by using the laser cutting machine FabLab Asturias, Laboratory of Digital Manufacturing of Centro de Arte. This sort will be used later for the graphics projects of EVOL. The visual component figures prominently in the EVOL publications, a group that has traditionally experimented with the graph of their publications from new formats and presentation ideas.
