Anna Dumitriu and Alex May will collaborate to develop a prototype of their underwater robotic installation that explores what 'life' might mean in a post singularity, post climate change future, based on new research about archaea combined with the latest innovations in machine learning & artificial intelligence, to create the 'ultimate' species for the end of the world as we know it. The work is in collaboration with researcher/cryomicroscopist Amanda Wilson as part of the MARA project based at Imperial College, and the School of Computer Science at the University of Hertfordshire.

This residence is part of the first call launched by European Platform EMAP (European Media Art Platform), adressed to european artists working with new technologies.
