Residence: Lorena Lozano and Juanjo Palacios
Lorena Lozano and Juanjo Palacios work on the project Social Dialogue, based on research by Mona Aranea within the program Marie Curie, Oviedo’s University.
In the scenery of heavy industry as city model evolving to culture as capital, this project gather different voices involved in the social dialogue in Europe. The artists will develop a composition from extracts of interviews made by Mona Aranea to different metal industry agents in Spain, Belgium and Germany during her Ph.D.
The result will be a sound installation as data visualization, polyphony of the world of industry that manifests the difficulties to find a unified voice and consensus. The aim is to offer an artistic vision of the world of industry while disseminate the results of academic research in a new channel of communication that enhances the process of knowledge transfer from universities into society.
The residence concludes with a public roundtable debate and exhibition opening the 3rd of February, 2017.
